PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
The year 2007 will be a memorable year in the history of the HKIWC, as we are at the threshold of significant celebrations aptly themed, the "Golden Era". On October 5th, 2007 we would like you all to rejoice with us at a Gala Charity Dinner "Splendour of India" at the Conrad Hotel. Proceeds raised from this event will be channelled to benefit the Children's Cancer Foundation and ongoing charities.
Looking ahead, we have not forgotten children as part of the 50th Anniversary celebration, a "Masti Mela" Fun Family Diwali Carnival has been planned for November 11th, 2007. This will be a festive, colourful and enjoyable carnival in the early afternoon with games galore, delicious food and entertainment to amuse the entire family.
Last but not least, to honour our "Golden Girls" and acknowledge the wonderful work and contributions they have made over the years, we will host a luncheon for them at the Holiday Inn Golden Mile Hotel, Kowloon. The date has been set for 16th January, 2008. We will post more details about this function in due course.
We ourselves feel that what we are doing is just "A Drop in the Ocean, but the Ocean would be Less because of that Missing Drop!" as Mother Theresa rightly said so. Every contribution by each one of you to the club since the past 50 years has been very commendable and that very drop has helped us to achieve our goals. Life is made up not of great sacrifices or duities, but of little things in which smiles and kindness, given habitually, are what win and preserve the heart and secure comfort. You have been our comfort zone and our inspiration to work for the betterment of humankind.
We women, as world mothers, would embrace all humanity, particularly children as they are our future. Please help us to fulfill our dream which our founder members envisioned and our young ladies are out to fulfill. We look to you for continuous support to help us carry on the tireless work and for that, we shall need alot of your encouragement, blessings and good wishes.
